“Youth, the HOPE of the FATHERLAND”

Youth is the backbone of every nation which holds it to keep firm and functional. Youth, small persons but possesses the power to change the course of the future, they are not just an ordinary being but they are the nation builder. Youth is the hidden weapon for a country’s development and an ace for a progressive nation. This is the time when they are still fresh and has room for improvements. Our nation needs a young person who has the ability and capability of being a level-headed leader and a decent follower as well.

Nowadays, teenager prefers to attend pot sessions rather than school sessions, they prefer to work in a commercial establishment rather than to work at school for improvements, they also prefer in creating a family rather than planning for a family. We don’t know if whose fault was this? We don’t know where this chaos came from? It is just like a plague in our community that keeps contaminating the shrinking number of youth attending school. As I discussed this topic in our baranggay one of the community member said “It’s so alarming, for nowadays our co-youths doing such things that could destroy their educational titles like working to earn money, building their own family, satisfying their vices, attending school for a reason is a lame thing for them and what makes it more heart-breaking is at the young age, sacrificing their education for their love ones is the only solution to escape poverty”. Our hero Dr. Jose Rizal once said that “The youth is the hope of the Fatherland” but what is happening in our society today? Is the famous line of our great hero effective until now? Can the youth, still be the hope of our Fatherland? Yes, they can fulfil the challenge of our hero for the youth despite of the circumstances that are bothering them. There is always hope for them to succeed in this task even if the current youths are surrounded by the dark shadows of the evil, there will be always hope, as what a quote says “HOPE is seeing light in spite of being surrounded by darkness” If their dreams are not yet faded, there is always hope, they just need a support from their family and the government and they can be the light that shines in our country.

Our government is doing what they can to provide youth the facilities and equipments to cultivate their qualities. This is like the scenario of planting trees. Youth can be compared as the seed and the government serves as the one who planted it. If the seed was planted on a loamy soil, fulfill its need, take good care of it, and water it as needed, it will surely prosper and bear good fruits. Just like the youth, if they are given the proper space, a decent apparatuses, a decorous disciplinary action, and a much needed attention then they will surely burgeon and produce the output of success. It is just the matter of time and space given to the youth in order to deliver what really is their mission in this life.

Youth count contributes around half of the population of our country. This is a great number to fight the catastrophe given by poverty and corruption. But how can we maximize the advantage we are given to? The only answer is “Education” because it is the foundation upon which we build the future. Make them educated free from idiotic premises, make them highly equipped with dedication and aspiration and make them closely to God then our nation will truly become successful.

If we take actions right now, it will be the greatest thing that we can contribute to the land. As a famous line of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us” if we decline right now then we will regret it forever but if we move right now we will cherish it forever. This is not only the task of the government but also the whole community as well, give them the best environment it can be and this might lead to the success of our nation. So, let me borrow the word of Donald Trump “Let us make our nation great again”.
